What Components in SFDC Will be Affected When I Migrate Packages?

A migration from v2 to v3 of Infer's scoring package will require you to uninstall the original package. Doing this will cause any custom fields, links, or other custom changes that were added after installation to be removed.

For additional help identifying which components will effect your specific SFDC instance please consider the points below:

=> You can't uninstall a package whenever any component in the package is referenced by a component that will not get included in the uninstall.

For example:

  • Workflow Rules: if you built any workflows rules including a custom field that gets triggered whenever that custom field hits a specific value, that workflow will no longer work after you uninstall the package.

  • Validation Rules: Any validation rules created on additional custom objects that reference a custom user field included in your application will no longer work when the application is uninstalled.

  • When an installed folder contains components you added after installation, Salesforce prevents you from uninstalling the package.

  • When an installed letterhead is used for an email template you added after installation, Salesforce prevents you from uninstalling the package.

If you are considering migrating packages, please get in touch with your account manager proactively so we can determine how best to proceed.
